In Times of Plenty
Next week we'll gather with loved ones. Whether it's your special one and only or every extended relative able to drive, fly, or dog sled in, Thanksgiving is all about . . .um, giving thanks.
And if we are honest with ourselves, listing our blessings should take longer than cooking that twelve pound turkey. If we have a car to worry about filling with gas, a house to worry about heating, and health insurance premiums to worry about paying, we are blessed.
If you need a break from the hustle and bustle next week, something that improves your mind and helps others less fortunate, go to Free Rice.com
I hope you all have a relaxing, fun, delicious holiday!

That free rice thing is fun. Thanks. :D
Peanuts in pumpkin pie? Sounds interesting at least. I have so many pumpkin pies stacked on pallets in the freezer at work I hope I never see another one, but peanuts are always good! The free rice thing is addictive isn't it? Right now Thanksgiving is competing with getting my Golden Heart entry ready. GRRRR! Happy Thanksgiving to each and everyone at the Gillian Layne house!
Alice, we have a "what level are you at?" dialogue going at our house. We'll start out high and then--crash! It's very humbling when the eight year old does better than you do.
Doglady! ((hugs)) Yes, the GH stress could almost (almost!) kill my appetite for Thanksgiving....
Happy Thanksgiving to each of You!
I am much smarter than I thought I was. Thank you, Mr. Murphy, my sophmore English teacher who forced us to learn Greek and Latin roots. Happy Thanksgiving!
That link is so much fun! Now I feel I've earned my breakfast. :)
I am so thankful for so many things this year. It's almost embarrassing, how much I have to be thankful for - family, friends, home, health, getting paid for what I love to do most...
Tessa, I'm glad you enjoyed the link! I think it's a brilliant idea.
