Cozy Nook or Coffee Shop?

Where do you read?  I can read anywhere, although I'm so good at blocking out distractions that I will miss appointments every time...

If I have my choice, however, I love a rainy day, a quilt, and my worn sofa with my cat trying to position himself between me and the pages. Bright and sunny means I should be outside working! :)

I also love sitting in my truck and reading while waiting for the girls to finish their school clubs, meetings, etc. It's very cozy.

Now look at this reading room...

The Szabo Ervin Library in Budapest, Hungary is a beautiful place. Much of the building is a modern library, but in the central library is a preserved palace, Wenckheim Palace. It was built by Count Frigyes Wenckheim (1842 – 1912), a well-known aristocrat of the end of the 19th century, the owner of a vast estate with the membership of the Parliament.
The City Council purchased the building and converted the beautiful palace rooms into reading rooms for their new library in 1931.

If I had a teleport  machine, this would be mine!

Where is your special reading place?

Loved this post, Gillian. I love snuggling down & reading when it's raining or storming, too! My absolute favorite thing. Now that I have my Kindle, I read every night before bed (the book I want is always at hand). And I also have my Kindle read to me when I'm walking the dog morning and night. That's at least an hour's reading gained!

Oh my, that reading room is my idea of heaven! Simply beautiful.

My fluffy couch is my favorite place, but once I'm in the novel it doesn't matter where I am.

Norah, the fact that Kindle would read to me really tips the scales. I think I need one. Thanks for stopping by!

Wendy, I am shopping for a new couch now and "fluffy" sounds about perfect. :)

Wouldn't it be amazing to have a reading room like the one you pictured!?!
I really like to read just about anywhere. With two young boys I rarely read any books that don't include bugs, cars, trucks, animals, etc.
I am with you...I love to read on rainy days!

I just found the sweetest books for children: http://www.andiandtaffy.com/

Called Andi and the Fair, etc. I loved reading with the kids. Such a wealth of children's literature out there.

Hey Gillian...I'm ashamed to admit that about the only place I read is in bed for about 10 minutes before I fall asleep! I have the best of intentions and try to stay awake but it rarely ever happens. I'm a follower of yours now and will be back again very soon. Hope you have a great week. ~Ann
