Ok, after a really mild winter we're going to get hammered over the next couple of days. (Unless they're wrong. Oh, how I hope they're wrong.) I've got water, batteries, flashlights, blankets, non-perishable foods, firewood, de-icer (not that we'll be driving again for two or three days), blah, blah, blah. But what makes a non-welcome snow day FUN?
Seriously. Nothing sexier on this planet than the man who's going to fix our electrical lines when it's ten degrees below zero outside (and quite possibly, inside). Whatever these heroes get paid, they deserve double. Triple. And a batch of chocolate chip cookies, to boot.
Harry Potter audio books. My first choice would be some of my favorite romances on audio, but I won't be snowed in alone, so we'll all enjoy these. They'll go perfectly with this:
And this:
So...what's on your essential snow-day list? Who else can't wait for spring?

I'm at work, but will be leaving at the first sight of snow. I filled up on gas on the way in, and last night stopped at the grocers. I'll have my TP, a fire, plenty of tea and my cat on my lap ... perfect snow day tomorrow.
We are already at fourteen inches. Crazy. I'm thinking we're having several snow days around here.
Hope you're enjoying it safely inside, Gillian. We seem to be getting mostly ice this time around.
I'm so sorry. Nothing is worse than ice, except flooding, I suppose. I hope it's gone quickly for you. We'll be digging out of here for days.
Hope you're done with the snow. Here it was mainly ice and wind. I do like your idea for audio books. I always buy them for my son, but never ones that are more for the whole family. You can only listen to Hank the Cowdog;s adventures for so long.
Sounds like a great time. We don't get that much snow here, but I would definitely add a sled to the list, assuming you can get out the door or window :)
Pam, we just love different audio books.
Clarissa, sledding is definitely a benefit of snow!
I'm a week late on this one..but I hope you are digging yourself out! We were covered up here (GA) a few weeks ago. The kids were out of school all week and everyone was going bananas..we're pansies when it comes to snow! On my essential list would be coffee...and more coffee. Thanks for coming by my blog and I'm following you now! jenT
Snow is rare for me, unless I go to the Troodos mountains. I am not a fan. Enjoy your cosy home!
Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving a sweet comment. Love your blog!
I love all your ways to stay warm, dry and entertained! My daughter would be right with you and the audio Harry Potters! I agree with you.. spring can't get here soon enough!
