Research and a Spot of Tea

Welcome! I've done a bit of blog redecorating in celebration of the new year, and quite enjoy the change in color. I'm also in a researching frame of mind, and came across a link I'd like to share with you:

Women Writers: 17th and 18th Century

You'll read about women such as Aphra Behn, a young woman who went from early widowhood to a short career as a spy, to debtor's prison, to writing over sixteen plays and fourteen novels, only six of which were printed in her lifetime. Fascinating!

Tea of the Week: Celestial Seasonings Blueberry Tea. Such a delight! I let it sit for two or three minutes, sprinkle with a packet or two of Splenda, sip, and dream of spring. I adore this tea, and cannot wait to try my raspberry packets.

Have a lovely week! Any new favorite January drinks?

Very interesting. That woman lived many lives. None easy for sure. I also love your post on Snowbound Blessings. So true. I always tell my girls to be content and just "be."

Thanks Clarissa! I never knew there was a licorice tea. I think I would love it!

Hi Carol--so glad you stopped by. Isn't historical romance wonderful? :)

Love the new look on the blog. I have got to study up or do some research. I want an interesting looking bog. This is really attractive.
I love their raspberry tea. I haven't tried the blueberry sound good.
Good combination, good book,good tea.
Thanks for your kind on comments on Bob's post. I say Bob's cause I have been sharing the comments with him. He is getting a "big head" and not from the fall. Truly we were very lucky. Hugs, Ginger

Bob's getting well-deserved kudos! :)

There are all sorts of very generous bloggers who design and offer free templates, along with instructions so straightforward that even I could figure it out. It's so much fun to look.

I just happened to be perusing through blogs and came across yours.

I enjoy the writings of Aphra Behn very much. Her story "Oroonoko" is most well-known and considered a part of the literary canon, though it has been in and out and in again over the centuries.

She was also one of the first women writers of the 18th century to actually identify herself as a female writer (many female writers identified themselves through only their initials, or used male names instead).

If you read Lady Mary Wortly Montagu, be sure to read the exchanges via poetry between herself and Alexander Pope. They are hilarious and full of stinging insults to one another.

Love the blog new look. Love the links. Love the sound of the tea.

I am drinking Lady Grey. A lemony version of Earl Grey. I love fruit tea.

Lady Grey is evidently the next tea on my list. Thanks for the recommendation, ladies! :)
