Today's writing quote: "And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt." ~Sylvia Plath
Today's Christmas book: "Under the Mistletoe" by Mary Balogh. (Yup, same title, different anthology collection) A wonderful selection of novellas.
Today's Christmas gift suggestion:
This is an amazing organization. You can pick an animal, a country, or make this a monthly donation. And they don't just help those in need overseas, but right here in the USA. Nothing feels better at Christmas than giving!
What's your favorite animal? I'm partial right now to the honeybees, and those little rabbits are charming. :)

Oh, Gillian, first of all, what a fantastic post by Sylvia Plath, and who can forget The Bell Jar. And what a terrific organization. Especially one who takes care of the homefront. What a wonderful blog. Seasons Greetings and thank you!
Thanks, Donnell. :)
I love anything by Mary Balogh! And Christmas anthologies are a particular favorite of mine. I have a whole stack of Regency Christmas anthologies I drag out every year at this time.
My favorite animal? Well, you know I love dogs and cats. But, I have also had hedgehogs as pets and they are adorable. Which is probably why I featured one in The Raven's Heart.
What a great idea for a blog!
Anthologies fit well into a busy holiday season, don't they?
Thanks for stopping by! :)
Great blog! Love the Sylvia Plath quote. And, my family is donating to Heifer International this Christmas--it's a fantastic organization. I think the water buffalo are funny, but we're partial to the bees too since my hubby has raised them and they're so cool!
Good for you! And how neat, raising bees. Our neighbor does that too and brings us fresh honeycomb, it's amazing. And supposed to have all sorts of health and allergy benefits.
Gillian, What a wonderful thing to highlight this organization. My family contributes each year. As you mentioned you can choose different animals. Flock of geese and etc. When given in the name of the child who has everything they take ownership of the gift. Some were more excited about this gift any other. One niece wondered about the recipient family for months after. Good job!! Ginger
Ownership of the gift is so important, isn't it? I'm so glad the organization is well known.
